I admit defeat

I've been rather caught up in a new project of mine, so I haven't yet finished this week's comic. I'll have it up asap, hopefully tomorrow sometime, but not now I'm afraid.

Check out my new project:

And so it begins...

EV #59 "And so it begins..."

This is the first installment in the story, but there were plenty of comics before. Check out the history page for the very first strips, or start reading from the beginning of this blog.

Let me tell you a tale.

It wasn't so cold that October night in 2004 when the Eevees first gathered together to dance and play. With music and lights pulsing hot and colorful, they shook tails and ruffled fur. It was a loud night, a fast night, and for those who were there, it was a night to be remembered.

I, unfortunately, was unable to attend the first Eevee Party. Nor the second, which they say was as wonderful as anyone could imagine. Such parties as these have come and passed me by many times as I have tried to maintain a life of peace and quiet.

That was, until the summer of 2010. Has it really been so many years ago? It couldn't have been more than a month or two since I was shown what the thrills of these wild dance parties were. It feels only now as if the adrenaline has worn off.

I digress, though. It was on August 23, 2010 and many days and weeks subsequent that I found myself in the company of friends dreaming of the Eevee Party and the chance of attending. One curious would happenstance lead to another through the course of that benign adventure called life, and I was in the wonderful position to have that adventure shared with my friends.

Before I knew it, I was caught up in things that had nothing to do with the Eevee Party, but that hardly mattered. I was able to be alive, shake tail, ruffle fur. And I wasn't the only one. All of my friends were able to breathe as we pleased.

I cherish the days when EV was a story. It was a wonderful time where we could really be ourselves to an audience that couldn't wait to see what comes next. Of course, we all had our reasons to discontinue the story, and perhaps you've noticed that for quite some time, EV has been a set of scenario after scenario, joke after joke, with little continuity. Not that I haven't enjoyed the time, but just hasn't been the same.

Which is why I'm excited to be the one to make this announcement to you.

Beginning Monday January 07, 2013, EV will once again be a story. Strip will lead one into the next, and I hope this means that we'll have more of a chance to be ourselves. I'm certainly eager for it, and I hope you are too.

Now, I began this by mentioning Eevee Party. This time around, I doubt the story will have so much to do with Eevee Party, as the third Eevee Party is still some time away, and in any case I will not be attending. However, Sandy tells me that she has been invited, and may end up in the broadcast, so congratulations to her.

So, whether you're new around here, or are an old friend, thanks for sticking around with us through all our nonsense. We started in a curious way and plan to continue so curiously. From here on out, our lives will be part of story.

So let me tell you a tale.
