≤Relevant: Squares Puzzle

A rather interesting puzzle has become viral on Facebook. I first saw it years ago, but it seems like a lot of people are passing it around now.

Let all debate be settled. Here is the answer:

How many squares are on this puzzle? 40.
Puzzles like this have been around for a long time. The trick to solving them is to remember that one square can be made up of smaller squares. Even though they're different sizes, you need to count them all.

You'll have an easier time getting the right answer if you start with the smallest ones and count all of them, then move onto the next size and count those, until you get to the largest size.

Remember, all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. It's only a real square if the sides are the same length. If someone tells you to count rectangles, they're forgetting basic geometry.

People who say 42 are making a reference to The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, wherein "the answer to life, the universe, and everything" is the number 42 (the question to life, the universe, and everything remains ambiguous).

Cudos to the clever rat who first said the solution was 102,400 which is the number of pixels on the default image. Technically, pixels are squares, though that's probably not what the puzzle-maker intended.

Don't be shy about sharing this solution whenever you see the puzzle. Also, be sure to check out the rest of this website for comics and artwork. And, feel free to like our Facebook page.

≤Relevant: Harry Potter / Fullmetal Alchemist crosscover

This was an idea that I had sometime shortly after beginning to watch Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood). Having watched again the first Harry Potter movie today, I decided to put it in action.

So, there are ads now.

You probably noticed the ads now present on the site.
That's right. I want money too.

Let's all appreciate the kind people at Google Ads who inspected my site and didn't report me for copyright violations.

For the time being, it looks like they'll mostly be cheap car insurance or television provider ads, with the occasional Pokémon-related thing. If you come across one that you find offensive, you can let me know.

Now that I'm getting paid, I'd especially appreciate if you'd show my work to your friends. I'll be paying more attention to regular updates. No schedule yet (especially since I'll be getting a job soon) but I assure you that there will be more.

How long would you last

Having cracked up in much less awkward situations than this, with much smaller audiences, I can admit I probably wouldn't last so long as this fellow did. Not without intense training.

But, honestly, looking at this .gif I snagged from a video, how long do you think you would be able to keep a straight face?
