On, into the future!

Perhaps those who frequent the site will notice that the "Pre-blog Archives" page is gone. Do not despair. I have piled everything it had onto the "Gallery" page.

"Why?" you might ask. "What is the reason for this madness?"

The answer to such a question is simple, my friends. It is to make room for...

(wait for it)

This summer, I will be concocting something epic, and I'll need an entire new page, and plenty more theatrical and overly melodramatic posts in order to prepare for it.

January 1.
You have been warned.

Merry Christmas!

"Happy Holidays" is too politically correct. If any of my audience celebrates Kwanza or Hanukkah, please understand that I do respect your culture and traditions. My culture and tradition is to say "Merry Christmas" this time of year, so deal with it.
Anyway, I don't have a real strip today, but I do have some stuff from my notebook. I call it a gift.
Edward Elric as an Umbreon

"Rabbits? Why would you go through the trouble to catch something so lame?"

Poor voltorb. He never does enjoy it when they play basketball with him.
Hopefully, my jokes aren't too obscure. Heh.
I think they're funny. They're funny.

Anyway, Christmas was actually yesterday, so happy Boxing Day! Maybe I'll have something out within the week. Maybe not.

Now what?

So, everybody. I still love you.
School has been hectic; today was the no-seriously-I-can't-change-your-grade-anymore-sorry last day of first quarter (which officially was supposed to end on Friday) at my school. Big breath of relief, I did decently.

That said, I want less stress the final week of this quarter, and the two subsequent quarters before I graduate. That means I will be doing a moderate amount of homework all the time, rather than activating panic mode at the eleventh hour.

What does that mean for EV? It means I (probably) won't be abandoning you anymore. There probably won't be more than one EV in a week, but there probably won't be less than one in every two weeks. I think we can live with that.

To kickstart this, I have drawn a picture for you. I put a lot of work into my Halloween costume (yeah, I know that isn't really earning your understanding for having produced no EVs in so long) this year, but now that Halloween is over, I'm feeling this strange emptiness.
Share my stuff with your friends! Remember, my fans are cooler than anyone else's fans, so make your friends cooler than anyone else's friends.

≤Relevant: More crap

I'm sorry that I don't have another strip for you. I started one, but life has been a little hectic lately. It sits unfinished...somewhere around here.
However, after digging through some of my stuff, I found some old pictures, including a few Halloween-relevant ones. Enjoy!

My Jack-o-Lantern last year:

Which led me to make this:

More recently, I met Cleverbot

And...then there's this Yu-Gi-Oh / Dilbert...thing

I really do have some good stuff, but before it gets online, it has to be finished: something that requires more time than I have to give. '^' (apologetic face)

≤Relevant: Epic Bulbasaur

Oi! I've been quiet for too long.
Sorry for that.

As anyone who has an internet audience will eventually say, "I've been sick." I didn't think that my illness would affect this website. Unlike YouTubers (who are notorious for having long silences during illness) my content doesn't require a good voice, neat appearance, or clean house. I figured I could draw comics, even while sprawled on a couch in my pajamas, fur matted with vapor rub, a tissue plugged up each nostril, and Magic School Bus (I love that show) playing in the background. After all, it's not hard to draw.
Unfortunately, I was mistaken. My favorite activity while sick was sleeping, or aimlessly posting on Facebook, and I think I set a personal record for both.

One productive thing did come of my illness, however. I've discovered (or rather, fallen in love with) Pokémemes. I've had a vague awareness of the website for some time, but never bothered to look it up, until I saw a pokémeme during one of my meanders through Facebook. I realized that some of what I've drawn would be great pokémemes, so I submitted some of my stuff, hoping to be able to draw people back here.
Two items were accepted: Gary holding the Chrome logo like a Pokeball, and Poptart Eevee. Poptart Eevee subsequently has gotten 1,000 views, and I have accelerated my plans to make a Poptart Pikachu. This has given me great satisfaction, and even drawn people to our Facebook page.

Anyway, I labeled this as being a ≤Relevant, with some kind of Epic Bulbasaur. I drew this before I got sick, during Calculus class. Basically, the idea was to take Pokémon, and draw them in more realistic proportions. Squirtle didn't turn out nearly as well, and I've had enough on my plate as it is, so whatever sort of "project" this might have turned into is probably never going to happen. :3 As if you wanted any more projects from me.

Here's an idea: I'll draw a strip tomorrow and post it on Monday. on Monday and post it on Tuesday Eventually.

Some of you have seen this animated GIF I've put together.
Some of you may have been drawn in by it, because I put it on my NaNoWriMo forum signature.
...and on Pokémemes.
Some of you are amused by it.
Some of you are annoyed by it.

but none of you can look away.

Art Envy

I had a chat with a friend of mine, yesterday. He told me the url of his DA page and I told him about this website.

Today, I actually looked up his DA page, and am now experiencing art envy. His style is much more heavily-influenced by American comic books than mine (I don't know all of what my mutt of a style is.) Anyway, if I post a few ≤Relevants of Pokémon battles and trainers, or of Batman, it's my futile attempt to compete.

BTW, while on DA, I noticed something that seemed funny to me.

I don't know about you, but I'm noticing a trend here.

She's just so cute!

What a day...
What a day indeed. You want to know what I've been up to this fine day? I'll tell you.

I went on a date.

I met this girl named Eve-Evee...and she was just so cute! What could I do?
I was actually pretty pathetic. Sorta stammering...I asked her if she liked ice cream, for crying out loud! Is there anyone who doesn't like ice cream?

See for yourself. It's laughable.

Nevertheless, she seemed thrilled about it. We went to that restaurant in Celadon. (You know, next to the Game Corner.) It was just a load of fun...

I just dropped her off at her home. Hope she had as good a time.

One year ago, today

I was on Facebook today, as is typical of me, when I happened to notice something both hilarious and unnerving.
This was my status, one year ago today:

I'd say "Oh how far the mighty have fallen," but that would require me being mighty.

Another step forward

I have now accomplished something: Every one of our official characters (ones I've introduced before the blog) now has an appearance on the blog. -- And, not just an appearance, but one which illustrates that character's dominating personality. Even Rax's appearance. Just sorta standing there is his personality.

That feels like an accomplishment. I have now caught up with myself. There's nothing on the old website that I haven't delivered here...except for three cameos of yet-unofficial characters. There's always an exception.

Even still, I have "unpacked the last box," and am now well-settled into my new website. It's good timing, too. I have also recently become aware that all of my characters are guys. Even Roko! -- who apparently everyone thought was a girl his first time around.

Now that I have all my previous characters shown off to the world, it's time for someone new. And considering there are not yet any girls in our cast, I present to you the star of our next strip: Sandy!
She is a girl. I swear.

New Useless Stuff (yay!)

I'm just popping in to notify you of some new useless stuff I've been working on.

First, in case you haven't noticed the link on the sidebar, we have a new Facebook Page! Like us! (that's an order)

Second, I've put together a couple of videos.

That last one might have been a bit unnecessary, but nice unnecessary.

≤Relevant: Linkachu

It's "Less Than (or equal to) Relevant."

Due to the fact that not all of the art I produce has to do with EV, although much of it still does have to do with Pokémon, I want to share with you more than just the strips and relevant stuff. So, this is ≤Relevant, my collection that is just that.

And -- as if anything I've done, including the name ≤Relevant isn't enough -- I'll demonstrate the enormity of my geekhood by sharing with you this picture I drew in the car a few days ago. It's not really the first ≤Relevant installment. It's just the first by that name.

I call him Linkachu. Take a wild guess why.
...Knowing me, there will be more of these soon.

The Big News

It's about time someone actually used this as a blog.

I don't know how many of you have been following politics. I don't usually care too much myself, but I was watching television last night, and I saw a bit of news that really interested me.

Mewtwo is going to run for United States President, this next election season!

"...and that is why I support Stem Cell research..."
That's a photo I took of him (on the TV) making the official announcement. I've long respected Mewtwo.

Perhaps you know that his rough childhood led him to join a gang when he was very young. However, he managed to break free from the destruction and hatred of his past, and became a prominent community leader at Mt. Quena, making it a better place for Pokémon with similar backgrounds to his.

Mewtwo is an intelligent, decisive, natural leader. He knows very well how to make something out of practically nothing, and how to tear down the old ways, for the sake of a better tomorrow. I can't think of anyone better for our nation.
Here's hoping.

Pay Up!

EV # 16, "Pay Up"

Spiffy, Isn't It?

Well, hello and welcome!
My name is Riley Hulick, and I draw EV. This is my new blogger website, which I will be using to publish our comics. We're still working out some kinks...
(sorry, I just wanted to use this picture)

I won't be the only one posting, though. I've got E² in charge of technical stuff, and (since it is, in fact, a blog) some of our friends might leave an entry every now and again.
I hope you enjoy reading EV as much as I enjoy producing it.
'Till then, ciao.
